Rochelle’s reasonably new to the Work.Life team and things have been a lot more lively since she’s been around. She started out back in April helping us out a couple of days a week and we loved her so much we created a brand-new role for her! She’s a football-loving, hilarious, bright spark and a joy to have around the offices. Just don’t ask her how to pronounce Vietnamese…

So Rochelle, what were you doing before Work.Life?

I was an Operations Manager for a boutique recruitment firm in the West End.

And what’s the best thing about working at Work.Life?

The team, I love that we have different backgrounds, likes & dislikes, but are all as equally friendly, welcoming, caring and generally awesome – it makes for more exciting socials!

Biggest passion?

Sports, I like them all! Football, netball, F1, snooker, athletics, golf, the list goes on…

What do you get up to on your days off Sporty Spice?

Going for long walks in Hackney, which always end with coffee and cake. Experimenting in the kitchen, making pasta, gyozas or having a go at baking. Sometimes, nothing beats a good film or boxset in my cosy flat in Stratford – you have to chill!

Tell us a bit more about your role, what does a Team Engagement Officer do?

Some of the team call me the people person, and I think that describes my role pretty well. I recruit all our wonderful team and then make sure they are engaged, happy and they know how to get the most out of what Work.Life have to offer! I look after everything HR, if any of the Work.Life team ever has any issues, I’m their woman.

What are your thoughts on the good old 9-5 we love to talk about, do you think it’s becoming a thing of the past?

Yes, I definitely think flexible working is the future; most of our team are asking for ways flexible working can be brought into their jobs; not because they don’t want to be here, but because they have side projects that they are passionate about.

Any party tricks?

Holding my own when it comes to football chat – I know my stuff!

Fave Work.Life location? (sorry to make you choose!)

Bermondsey, I love the vibe there and opposite does a mean Pho!

Where are you off on holiday next?

Cologne for the Christmas markets – woo! I surprised my boyfriend with tickets for our anniversary and can’t wait – waffles and beer here I come.

Last meal before being shipped off to a desert island?

Sausage, mash, green veg & gravy! Followed by sticky toffee pudding obvs.

Quick fire round:

Morning person or night owl? Morning person definitely, I try and get up bright and early and go to the gym or it won’t happen

Favourite film: Shawshank Redemption

Summer or winter? Winter – hurry up please!

Sweet or savoury? Savoury, because sweet goes straight to your hips

Cats or dogs? Dogs everyday
