Team Work.Life are on the move 

As a business that deals in desks and chairs, we’d say we’re pretty much the office experts. But you know what they say – those who give the best advice rarely take it themselves. Well, for once, we actually did.

Our support team – think Marketing, Finance, People, Digital, Sales – has been working from the wonderful Work.Life Soho for the best part of a year. But with the opening of our biggest space yet in Farringdon, St Cross Street, we started to feel that familiar itch for a change.

Now, before we get into it, let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as the perfect time to move offices. It’s not always about growth, timing, or even upgrading to something shinier. Sometimes, it’s about how your workspace supports your team’s goals, energy, and productivity. And for us, St Cross Street was the right move to align with where we are and where we’re heading.

Firstly, let’s talk Soho…

Work.Life Soho is full of creative, fast-moving agencies that have inspired us for a long time. It’s one of the reasons we moved there in the first place. The space is bright, the community is top-tier, and the location is convenient for pretty much everyone.

So why leave? It wasn’t about outgrowing Soho or falling out of love with the space. It was about making a strategic shift that better suits our team’s evolving needs. And right now, that meant making a move. And believe us, we’re going to miss being in the heart of one of the best cities in the world. 

Why St Cross Street?

The simple answer? It’s the right fit for where we are now.

The longer answer? We’re evolving in more ways than one. Yes, we’re hiring, but we’re also expanding what we do. We’ve launched our sparkly new events product, and our spaces are filling up – especially Phoenix, our 100-capacity events space at St Cross Street. We’ve already hosted huge book clubs, panel events, and networking evenings, and we wanted to be in the middle of it all.

And then there’s the extras. Our new home comes with a podcast and screening room – an absolute game-changer for our content team. Whether it’s recording new content, hosting webinars (watch this space), or screening brand videos, having this facility right downstairs makes all the difference.

We’ve also carefully designed our space to be a reflection of everything we stand for – collaboration, flexibility, and a community-first mindset. From spacious breakout areas to quiet focus zones, we’ve created a workspace that adapts to how our team works best. Because let’s face it, where you work has a massive impact on how you work.

What we’ve learned from moving offices

This isn’t our first office move, and it likely won’t be our last. Each move has taught us something different about what really matters when choosing a workspace. Here are a few takeaways:

  1. Location matters – but not in the way you think. It’s not just about transport links; it’s about being in a place that energizes your team. St Cross Street puts us at the heart of a vibrant business community, with endless opportunities to connect, collaborate, and (importantly) grab great coffee.
  2. Your space should grow with you. A workspace should never feel like a constraint. Whether it’s adding new desks, creating a new meeting space, or having access to event areas, flexibility is key.
  3. Culture should lead the way. An office isn’t just a place to work – it’s a place that shapes your company culture. We wanted a space that fosters creativity, connection, and (most importantly) happiness at work.
