With our OG Membership Manager, Grace, taking on a different role with us at Work.Life, we’re delighted to welcome Ana as our new Membership Manager in London Fields.

London Fields already has a thriving community of members, and our Work.Life Membership Managers are the glue that holds each of our unique co-working spaces together. They’re there to make sure everyone enjoys every day they spend with us, and to help our members make the most of the space.

We’re super excited to welcome Ana to the team – she’s got a lot of awesome ideas around sustainability that we’re already giving a go. Get to know a little bit about her below!

Hello!

I’m Ana, and I recently joined Work.Life London Fields as Membership Manager. I couldn’t be happier with this location!

My daily commute is now a 15 minutes’ ride through the lovely and bike-friendly Borough of Hackney. In addition, I’m now very close by the delicious takeaways and restaurants in Broadway Market, and one of my favourite jazz clubs in town: Kansas Smitty’s!

I’m Portuguese, and since I left Lisbon seven years ago, I have lived in France, India, the Netherlands, and now the UK.

My background is in Biology, and I spent several years researching on stem cells and embryos. Outside the lab, I was always busy with bringing people from different backgrounds together, by curating and organising festivals and events that explore the borders between different disciplines.

My passion for interdisciplinarity has been the common thread guiding my professional and personal lives. Work.Life couldn’t be a better match with these interests because of the value it places on community by creating intimate environments that promote creativity and productivity.

I’m genuinely impressed with the talent of our members; it has been a pleasure to get to know them and to learn more about their businesses and projects. The diversity and the quality are astounding! Moreover, our Work.Life events and networking opportunities make our co-working space an amazing laboratory for experiments in collaboration – which I look forward to contributing to!

I’m also very enthusiastic about the sustainability potential of Work.Life. When I moved to London last year, I initially started working on sustainability and greenentrepreneurship. In a city where air pollution is a big issue, I looked at ways to engage community groups, promote sustainable behaviours, and develop policies to improve the air we breathe.

At Work.Life, we value our member’s health and well-being, and we know these depend directly on our environment. Therefore, I’ve been working on a sustainability project across our sites, and with the help of our members we’ve already become a greener co-working space!

In my free time, I continue to curate events content for three different organisations: Science London, the London branch of the British Science Association; The Story of Space, an interdisciplinary festival taking place in Goa in November; and very recently I joined the amazing Crossmodalism team as a curator, they are a very interesting community of artists, scientists and entrepreneurs who gather every month here in London.

Well, this is me in a nutshell. If you want to visit our site in London Fields, please do get in touch or just pop in – I would love to show you around!
