Thank you to Clerkenwell Charity Committee for helping Crisis this Christmas.

And so it begins… a new year, new ambitions, new ideas. We hope you’ve had a great start to the year already and haven’t lost sight of those new year’s resolutions just yet.

Before 2017 turned to 2018, the Work.Life charity committee joined forces once again to discuss which charity they would choose to give support to next. The idea to raise money for Crisis: the national charity for Homeless, was birthed over a series of meetings and discussions held at our Work.Life Clerkenwell space in the months leading up to Christmas.

The Work.Life charity committee asked themselves this question: How can we activate the Work.Life community in order to help Crisis this year?

On the 7th December 2017, Work.Life held a charity fundraiser across all spaces, where all members and staff were encouraged to wear Christmas Jumpers and to take advantage of the special treats offered throughout the day: mince pies and mulled wine!

The day went down a treat – pun intended – with Work.Life spaces raising a combined total of £1,000! To which Work.Life then matched! So in total Work.Life raised £2,000 for this charity, allowing more people to have a merrier Christmas.

Crisis shared with us some impressive statistics of their 50th year running achievements. In the last year, they’ve helped more than 11,000 people on their journey out of homelessness and through consistent effort and recognition in the media, they received help from over 10,000 volunteers who assisted 4,000 homeless across Britain gain access to food, water and the time to interact with others. For the Work.Life community these were great reasons to support Crisis’ work and raise money for their mission.

We are very thankful to our members across our spaces in London and Reading for their generosity and efforts. A special thanks to this quarter’s charity committee in Clerkenwell; Dylan, Louisa, Fred, Ana, Emma, Marina and Ben. The first Work.Life Charity Committee of 2018 will be based in Bermondsey and is already in action to prepare the next event. If you’re a member and want to help, there is still time to join them, just shoot us an email!
