Work.Life Clerkenwell Green sits in one of London’s most creative and historic neighbourhoods. It’s surrounded by independent coffee roasters, Michelin-recommended restaurants, design studios, and some of the city’s best bars. The space itself is beautiful – natural light floods through floor-to-ceiling windows, there’s a vibrant atmosphere, and everything from the furniture to the WiFi is thoughtfully designed.

But here’s the truth: the space is only as good as the people who run it.

You can have the most beautifully designed office in the world, the fastest WiFi, the most ergonomic chairs – but if the team isn’t welcoming, helpful, and genuinely invested in your experience, it’s just furniture and an internet connection.

Jon and Dom are what make Clerkenwell Green more than just another workspace. They’re not just facility managers or receptionists (though they excel at both). They’re community builders. They remember names, solve problems before you even realise you have them, and create the kind of environment where people actually want to come to the office.

Whether it’s Jon making sure there’s cake for an afternoon pick-me-up, or Dom keeping the coffee flowing and the energy high, it’s these small, human touches that transform a workspace into a community.

So we sat down with Jon and Dom and asked them a few questions to help you get to know the people who make your workday better.

Introducing Jon

How long have you been with Work.Life?
Over 3 years at Work.Life, and I have been all over the place.

What’s a fun fact about you?
I love gardening from growing beautiful flowers and shrubs, as well as growing fruit and vegetables. I love growing new things, from massive Dahlia’s to Luffahs.

Where’s your go-to lunch spot near the office?
Noodle Brat is amazing for a quick poke bowl or a cheeky ramen, but there is so much good food in the area it’s hard to pick.

What was your first job?
At my local Pub as waiter, it was right on the sea side in Cornwall.

What’s working happy to you?
I love working with people, busy days with lots going on! A lovely afternoon treat never hurts either… someone say slice of Victoria sponge cake?

Introducing Dom

How long have you been with Work.Life?
Over 2 years!

What’s a fun fact about you?
My hair style changes every year into something dramatic. I’ve been a skinhead, had a mohawk, bleached white hair and now long curly locks. Who knows what’s next!

Where’s your go-to lunch spot near the office?
Gerry’s hot subs in Exmouth Market, they’re incredible and it’s less than 10 mins from the office!

What was your first job?
I worked in a catalogue shop (that one) as part of the front of house, stock room, and a van driver. I’m a man of many trades!

What’s working happy to you?
A busy day ahead, a constant supply of coffee, and a good lunch to help me through.

What makes Jon and Dom special

From Jon’s three years of being “all over the place” across Work.Life locations to Dom’s ever-evolving hairstyles, these two bring personality, energy, and genuine care to Work.Life Clerkenwell Green every single day.

Jon’s patient, nurturing approach (clearly honed through years of gardening) means he treats the community with the same care he gives his Dahlias. Dom’s versatility and adaptability – honed from being a “man of many trades” – means no challenge is too big and no member request goes unnoticed.

And crucially? They both understand that work happiness comes from the simple things: good food, busy days that fly by, human connection, and yes, the occasional slice of Victoria sponge cake.

This is what community looks like. Not forced networking events or mandatory team-building. Just real people, showing up every day, making your workspace feel less like an office and more like a place you actually want to be.
