Chris has been part of the Work.Life family for 1.5 years, and he’s already left his mark. Starting as Membership Manager at Holborn, he quickly took on Farringdon, Aldersgate Street too, then stepped into an Area Manager role. Now, he’s taking the reins at St Cross Street—and we can’t wait to see the community he cultivates.
From the theatre to coworking
Chris’s journey to Work.Life isn’t your typical coworking story. Before joining us, he spent years as a Theatre Manager at The Troubadour, managing teams and creating memorable experiences for audiences. While he loved the buzz of the theatre world, Chris craved a role where he could make deeper connections and be part of a community.
“Work.Life’s culture really stood out to me,” Chris explains. “I wanted to be part of a company where people genuinely support each other, and where I could work in a role that’s both people-facing and impactful. Work.Life gave me exactly that.”
His background in theatre prepared him well for the fast-paced, people-focused environment of coworking. “Theatre is all about collaboration and creating a space where everyone feels welcome. It’s not that different from what we do at Work.Life.”

“I’ve always wanted to be part of opening a space – I did the same when I was working in theatre – touring it, helping set it up, and building a team. There’s something so rewarding about seeing a space come to life and then watching the community grow within it. St Cross Street is such a great opportunity, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
For Chris, this role is also about putting his stamp on something new. “It’s not just about managing a space; it’s about shaping the culture and creating an environment where people really want to come to work – that’s what Work.Life is all about.”

As someone who’s spent plenty of time in the area, Chris is quick to sing Farringdon’s praises.
“Leather Lane Market is definitely a highlight – it’s full of amazing food options, and there’s such a lively atmosphere. I also love that St Cross Street is in the heart of the jewellery district. It’s got this dramatic vibe that’s so unique to the area.”
But it’s not just about food and dramatics. “There’s so much culture here too. The Barbican is one of my favourite spots, and Piano Works is perfect for a fun night out. Farringdon has this mix of work and play that makes it such a great place to be.”
Looking ahead: Big plans for St Cross Street
So, what’s Chris most excited about as St Cross Street opens its doors?
“Where do I start? The roof terrace is going to be amazing in the summer. It’s perfect for events or even just taking a break during the day. The events space itself is incredible – we’ve got so much potential to bring people together. And then there are the bespoke features like the podcast studio and screening room, which really set this space apart. It’s exciting to have so many ways to support our members’ work and creativity.”
Chris is also passionate about creating a welcoming and dynamic community. “Work.Life spaces are all about connection, and I’m looking forward to finding new ways to bring people together. I’ve already got a few ideas in mind, like ice cream Mondays… We’ll see how that goes down!”
