Your role

The role of Finance Director is responsible for the strategic financial direction of the business and for supporting the existing Financial Controller and the wider team with day-to-day finance operations

You will have gained a breadth of experience through senior finance roles and you will be able to apply these in a high-growth environment.

We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of our mission and be part of the leadership team to add value and drive the business forward; this role is a full-time role. (No portfolio FDs, thank you).

 

Your day to day

BUSINESS STRATEGY

  • A key contributor to the development of the business strategy, ensuring strong commercial outcomes and delivery of strategic and financial targets
  • Actively support the development and review of commercial proposals and strategic business cases.

 

FUNDRAISING

  • Lead financial due diligence for future fundraising, negotiating terms with debt providers and equity investors

 

FINANCIAL REPORTING

  • Responsible for reviewing key financial reports and monthly management reporting and KPIs
  • Oversight of scenario planning during and through the pandemic, with a focus on cashflow forecasting
  • Continuously improve accuracy and speed of our financial management information and reports
  • Support the development and monitoring of financial and operational KPIs

 

SUPPORT THE TEAM

  • Support and coach Financial Controller on technical issues and general support to ensure she and the wider finance team are fully supported on an ongoing basis
  • Oversee workflow management of the finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller

 

What success will look like for you

  • You’ll devise and implement a finance strategy in line with post-COVID recovery plan and with business goals
  • You’ll consider the cost and benefit of new business opportunities and manage financial due diligence
  • You’ll ensure accuracy and timeliness of key financial information
  • You’ll ensure budgets are met and we hit expenditure targets across the business using necessary controls
  • You’ll oversee the implementation of new finance systems and structures required to meet reporting requirements for Yours
  • Finally, you’ll support our existing Financial Controller in her skillset and career development

 

About you

  • You’ll have a relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) from a top practice
  • You’ll have previous experience as a Finance Director, managing teams, in hands-on, high-growth environments
  • You’ll be experienced in building and implementing financial processes at scale
  • You’ll have proven fundraising experience and have previous investor relations experience
  • You’ll have a proven track record of implementing and leading a performance-based culture & providing training and support to line managers

  • The interview process will be three stages: a phone interview and two face-to-face (virtual) interviews with the final interview including a presentation – these interviews could change to face to face as we progress and restrictions are lifted.
